My research lies at the intersection of human vision and computer vision. I use machine learning to model various aspects of human visual processing including natural scene statistics, texture perception, peripheral vision, and temporal stability, and test how such models can improve network performance. My work improves both our basic understanding of how humans process visual information, and also has applications in biologically inspired networks that improve e!ciency and robustness of deep networks by incorporating aspects of human vision.
